The bluu unit history

The cornerstone of today's bluu unit Group is the Kälte Eckert Group, which was founded in 1966 as a local craft business. The company has been a pioneer in the field of natural refrigerants for more than 40 years. Triton invested in the Kälte Eckert Group in July 2022 and has supported five add-on acquisitions since then. The aim was to create a national market leader for sustainable refrigeration and air conditioning technology. Since February 2024, the group, which has developed from a regional to a nationwide provider with 10 locations and around 350 employees, has been trading as bluu unit. With a focus on innovative technologies and natural refrigerants, the range of services extends from consulting, project planning and design to installation and maintenance.

Why Triton invested

The business services sector is one of Triton's core sectors. A key focus is on ESG-driven business models. Triton has been investing in service companies across Europe for more than 20 years and brings relevant know-how in the field of climate technology based on its expertise in industrial technology. The aim is to support the Group's management and employees in realising the growth strategy and accelerating regional expansion, and to further develop the company into a market leader in refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation technology.
